I love to clean. I LOATHE washing dishes. This must come from working in a restaurant for a short period in my life. It had gotten to the point that I would look at the dishes in my sink and cringe. I would bundle my babies up, toss them in the buggy, and go for a run to avoid the 10 minute job that faced me. I was sharing my disgust for this tedious task with my husband’s grandmother one day and she suggested that I fill the sink with soapy water before I begin to cook and wash as I go. I am giving it a try and so far, so good! There is just something about feeling like I am skipping the step of having to wash the sink and run the water right after I eat that really helps. Thanks Grammy!

The Best Sippy Cups Ever!
When my little guy turned one I grabbed a couple different kinds of sippy cups to see which ones we would like. Found my favorite right away! Don’t waste your money on anything other than the Tommee Tippee Truly Spill Proof Sippy Cups. There are water bottles, cups with handles, cups without, cups with straws, oh the possibilities. They have fun colors for boys and girls and truly don’t spill. My little guy would shake them and they wouldn’t loose a drop of liquid. I picked mine up at Babies”R”Us.

These are pics of my favorites! My little boy is 3 and we still have the original valves. At around $4 a cup they are a Great Buy!
How Do You Have Time To Do All Of That?
I remember asking a friend with far more children than I how she got everything done. Her house was always clean, meals always cooked, etc… I finally realized that it is not what I have time for, it’s what I make time for. Now, with one more child than before, I am the person people are asking that same question. Make time for what is important for you. If it isn’t important, it doesn’t matter.
Orange Slime
Anyone with kids remembers those orange slime explosion diapers that would ruin whatever piece of clothing they touched. If you nursed your babies, you know they don’t go away until solids are a huge part of their diet. Either way, I am sure there were a couple outfits or onesies that were deemed destroyed and thrown away. Usually ending in disappointment, I would wash them out right away with dish soap and toss them in the wash crossing my fingers they would come out unscathed.
At my mother-in-law’s house with my firstborn, I used her JOY dish soap to wash out and pre-treat a brand new white onesie. To my surprise, it washed clean and returned to it’s bleach white color as if I had erased the last 10 minutes of it’s short life. Best part is, JOY is cheap and as long as you get it washed out ASAP with hot water, you will save your favorite outfit and some money!
Laundry Day
I have a few friends that manage to toss in a load of laundry every day. I gave it a try and felt like I was ALWAYS doing laundry. So, I like to take one day a week and commit it to laundry. My Electrolux washer and dryer make laundry easy, but offer a rather peaceful chime when finished. With two screaming kids, I don’t always hear them. I make it a point to stay home on laundry day and sort my piles upstairs in the middle between my kitchen and living room so that I can’t forget about it. I also pull my clothes out of the dryer and fold or hang them right away to minimize ironing.
